Our last team of the summer

1 team and 2 great camps

This was an interesting trip for us. We were all on one big team but the majority of our time was spent separated.

5 men and Courtney headed to one part of town to host a baseball camp.

6 men, one woman and Preston headed to the same courts as last year to host a basketball camp.

Even though we were separate we still loved, cared, worked and prayed together. It was a true example of what working as a BODY looks like.

Throughout this week we saw the Lord bring the kids and we were able to see lots of smiles as we were able to love on the kids via sports.

We would like to Praise the Lord for NO rain at every camp, no injuries, a united team and many new relationships which were started that we pray to deepen in the future.

Basketball Camp

Preston worked with the basketball camp. This was our second year for this camp. We had several workers from Second, who came last year, return to run the camp. Grande D aka Dusty ran the camp for us and did an amazing job.

It was fun for everyone to see kids' faces from last year

and meet new faces.

They taught the kids basketball drills, exercises, the basic fundamentals. They played games with the kids and used the time to encourage and love on them using basketball.

This camp had 24 kids sign up but due to schedules, etc. they had around 15 kids at every camp.
It was neat for the team to see how much the kids from last year had grown and improved. The coaches did a great job taking time to teach them one on one.

They also had competitions and were able to win medals. The last night they had a big award ceremony and every kid received a certificate of completion. They were drawing quite the crowd during that time. They think there was about 55 people standing there watching.

Preston also was stopped by a local newspaper one day. Little by little the word gets out about the new church! Thanks for all your prayers for the basketball team.

The Baseball camp

This was our first year for the baseball camps. We showed up the first day to no kids. The guys played around for an hour and a half by themselves. I (Courtney) was starting to get a bit discouraged but the men were all smiles and trusting in the Lord's time.

Then some kids showed up! We were excited. There were only 4 of them but that was better than none. So our camp was in full swing. Mike O. ran our camp for us and did an excellent job!

But the Lord wanted to grow the camp even more. Everyday we added more and more kids. By the end of the week we had 16 at camp. We had 20 names of kids who came throughout the week.

We taught the kids basic baseball skills and then we played games with them. They loved getting to play and they really loved getting to bat!!

At the end of the camp each kid was given a certificate and our contact information. Preston and I will be going out there Tuesday to follow up and keep those relationships strong.

Thank you baseball team. You all did a great job serving our Lord. The kids fell in love with you. Thanks for loving on them for a week. I am sure they will never forget you!

My Momma!!

Today I rejoice in the birth of the amazing woman who carried me for over 9 months, delivered me into this world and then still to this day continues to nurture me.
I love my mom so much. She has so much beauty about her. She loves me and is so proud of me. I love having her as my mom and my friend. Her love and passion for the people of Puerto Vallarta is amazing. She loves the work here and she is a huge supporter.

She loves and provides an amazing home for her family. She is a Proverbs 31 woman!

I think my mom is truly my biggest fan!!

Mom, I know you love me so much and I know you are my biggest fan. I hope you know how much I love you. I think you are a beautiful godly woman and I love you so much. I am glad you were born on this day. You are God's crafty work!! I love you SO much.

Youth Trip

We sent the youth home yesterday. They did an amazing job! We really felt the Lord moving and working in our lives, the lives of the youth and the lives in P.V. We are praising Him for all He did and how He used each and every one of us!

Every morning we went out to distribute fliers about the church and upcoming basketball and baseball camps

Every evening at the camps we had some rain. The first night was the worst. It was a down pour the entire time. You can see in these pictures how soaked everyone is!!

The youth did a great job doing crafts, singing and playing soccer with the kids.

The youth also put on Bible story skits
This was our awesome God costume!! Thanks King James!!
PRAISE THE LORD
Tuesday we had about 10 kids
Wednesday we had about 24
Thursday we had about 30
Friday we had about 35
Saturday we had about 20

Take a look at some of the faces. We made some good contacts and we are going to be following up in the next few weeks. Pray for the faces you see and their parents.

Angela came by to help lead the singing

Remember Mother and Daughter Trip: This is the fruit from all those fliers you passed!

Thank you prayer supporters for all your prayers. The rain held off in the most crucial times and the camps were a huge blessing to Silvia and her neighborhood.

Youth and leaders, thank you so much for all your hard work. Thanks for working diligently even if it was pouring down rain or humid and hot! You guys were awesome missionaries and a joy to serve with. We love you all.
