Preston worked with the basketball camp. This was our second year for this camp. We had several workers from Second, who came last year, return to run the camp. Grande D aka Dusty ran the camp for us and did an amazing job.
It was fun for everyone to see kids' faces from last year
and meet new faces.
They taught the kids basketball drills, exercises, the basic fundamentals. They played games with the kids and used the time to encourage and love on them using basketball.
This camp had 24 kids sign up but due to schedules, etc. they had around 15 kids at every camp.
It was neat for the team to see how much the kids from last year had grown and improved.
The coaches did a great job taking time to teach them one on one.
They also had competitions and were able to win medals. The last night they had a big award ceremony and every kid received a certificate of completion. They were drawing quite the crowd during that time. They think there was about 55 people standing there watching.Preston also was stopped by a local newspaper one day. Little by little the word gets out about the new church! Thanks for all your prayers for the basketball team.
