My Teeth :(

I have been having lots of problems lately with my wisdom teeth. Some days I will have tons of pain which cause horrible headaches and then other days I won't have any pain. After a headache that had me on the couch all day I decided it was time to visit the dentist. (take into consideration I hadn't been to the dentist in 8 years!)

So, I made an appointment only to learn I also have 9 cavities!! She filled one big one that day and then told me where I needed to go to get the X-ray for my wisdom teeth. So I went and got my X-rays and since have been back to the dentist. But now I am having to see my dentist's dad, who also is a surgeon dentist. My two wisdom teeth are below the surface but need to come out. They are the bottom 2. The X-rays showed that I don't even have top ones...weird.

So, I am scheduled for November 17 to have my wisdom teeth cut out! I am so nervous. Please pray for me to have calm nerves. I asked him about anesthesia and they are only going to use local anesthesia!! But he said they will use about 6 shots of it. So I am definitely going to take my I-pod and hopefully fall asleep. Oh gosh!! I am scared. Please pray!!

Our River Hike

This Saturday Preston and I went for a little hike up a river just south of town.
We were out there 4 hours; exploring, swimming, enjoying God's creation and enjoying time with each other. I have made a slide show of some of the pictures. We hope you can enjoy the beauty of God's creation through these pictures!
We love you all

Manzanillo

This weekend we went on a little road trip with 4 members from the church here.
Preston and I, Erika, Cesar, Elizabeth and Erika's mom Patricia all headed south in the mini van to Manzanillo!

We were going to Manzanillo to meet the church there for the first time. The two churches keep hearing about each other but they had never met. So, this weekend was a huge deal. But also it was a time of fun, relaxation and bonding for us and the church.

We left P. V around 12:30 Saturday and arrived in Manzanillo around 5:00. We checked into our hotel, grabbed a bite to eat and headed downtown. Here are some pictures from downtown and our site seeing.

everyone taking pictures of downtown

Everyone in front of the Big Fish....except Preston.

Thanks for taking our picture Preston!!

The sunset

The Gals
You can't really tell but this was a building downtown that was covered with birds. If you look closely on the railings you can see black dots everywhere....those are birds!!! It was hard to capture just how crazy it was!

That night at 8:00 we met at a local taco stand to meet some members of the church in Manzanillo. It was a great time of food and fellowship. Sorry, we don't have any pictures of this event :( But it was a great chance to get to know each other.

Then we headed back to the hotel to play some cards until the wee hours of the night. There were lots of laughs during this time. We were all starting to get tired and slap happy.

Erika at the hotel
We woke up early to Preston making us omelets and then we went to church service at 11:00.
It was so great to worship with our brothers and sister of Manzanillo. Like I said before. It was a huge moment for those 2 churches to unite as one body.

After church we stopped at Subway ate lunch, said goodbye to Bill and Vicki and then headed back to P.V. We arrived back around 7:00. What a weekend!! We were all exhausted on Monday.
But the Lord gave us a great weekend filled with lots of love, laughs and fun memories. We pray there will be more to come in the future between these 2 churches.

Some notes and laughs for the Spanish speaking readers.....
No hay huevos en Manzanillo?!!
Quiero todos los Wilis!!
Pienso que hay un cadavier en el refri!!

Gracias por venir con nosotros. Tuvimos un tiempo perfecto.

The Little Things

It is funny to see the things you love and miss when you live far from home. For those of you who know me well, know that I am very particular about the beauty products I use. Once I find something I like, I stick with it until they quit making the product!

When I am home I always stock up on deodorant, feminine products, razors, shampoo and conditioner. Some of you can even testify to hauling some of these products down in your very own suitcases when you come to visit :)

Well the Lord is continuing to provide for Preston and I down here. We have been able to find many things from home to fill our deepest desires. FYI: the stores are carrying Grape Jelly now.

Well the other day we were at the new local mall looking for bridesmaid dresses when I came around the corner to the biggest shock and blessing since we have lived here........ A Sally Beauty Supply!!! Yes, folks believe it. It is even the exact same with the same smell as you enter the store!! And they have my shampoo and conditioner!!!

The Lord is so good. I know you are all breathing a sigh of relief as you no longer have to haul down those big bottles wrapped in trash bags!!!

It is the little things time and time again!

Happy Birthday PG

We had a great time celebrating Preston's birthday!! We had an action packed day. By the end of the night we crashed.

First, I bought Preston this cool balloon. Everyone needs to see this thing. It is huge and really cool. It has been following us where ever we are in the house :)

I made Preston cashew chicken the eve of his birthday so we had cashew chicken leftovers for lunch.
Preston was able to take a dip in the pool while I made him the cake he wanted.
Then we had Bible study just like normal. BUT, I had planned a surprise party after Bible study with all the church members. We were going to meet and eat at this new buffet Preston wanted to try. It turned out to be a blast. I think Preston had a great time and we ate way too much food.

They came out to sing Happy Birthday

They tell you to take a bite and when you bend down they smash your face into the dessert.

Here is Preston standing on his chair while they sing to him!

Then we came home to open his presents.

Preston received many phone calls, messages, cards and gifts. Thank you so much for thinking of him on his special day. Preston is now the big 26!

The Birth of my Husband

I am so excited to celebrate the birth of Preston today. When he was brought into this world the world became a much brighter place. I know for me, Preston lights up my days and my world. He is the most amazing and loyal husband and friend. He loves me through the good days and the bad ones :)

I know Preston has blessed your lives as well. Today I would like everyone to let Preston know how he has blessed your lives. You can leave a comment on this blog or send him a quick message at prestongoings at gmail dot com

Preston is so dedicated to serving our Lord no matter the costs. I know for me...he has blessed my life in helping me see a true broken heart for the lost. He has shown me what being a servant looks like and he has made me become a better person because of his model and challenges to me. He has truly blessed me by the amount of love he gives me. The love flows from this man. Not only to me but those around him, to his family and friends and to our King. His love challenges me to love and give more of myself.

Preston thank you for blessing my life and I know so many others. I hope you know you are loved today and everyday. On behalf of all our family and friends we wish you a very Happy Birthday!! We love you so much!!

Happy Birthday Betsy

Preston and my dear friend Betsy share the same birthday. Same year and everything! I love her so much and I am so thankful for her friendship.

Betsy, I hope you have a beautiful day. I hope your day is one you will never forget.
Please know I am so thankful for you and your friendship to me!!!
