Time is flying by

Time is really flying by for us. It is hard to believe that I am already 25 weeks pregnant! Friday will mark the beginning of 26 weeks! On our baby countdown we now have less than 100 days.
Also, we will be home in less than a week to spend 2 weeks in Springfield with our family and friends.

I thought you guys would like to see the growing belly although I hope to see many of you in person while we are home. Maybe our little monkey will even show off a kick or two for some of you :)

We are trying to enjoy every second of this journey because we can see it is going to pass by in the blink of an eye. We love you all and we will see you soon!

Changing table update

Preston has completed his first woodworking project for the baby. The changing table is finished and is now in the baby's room. Now, we are just waiting to stain it. We are waiting to get the crib and try to somewhat match the colors. But until then we admire the great work Preston did and how, soon, the room will start coming together. Little by little!

A day in my shoes

Well the title is misleading. I am not going to share my entire day just a fun little story.

For those of you who don't know, my doctor has placed me on a low carb diet already. She keeps telling me to replace those bad carbs (grains) with good carbs (fruit and veggies). So, this keeps me going back to the store for more fresh fruits and veggies. Today, I was super happy walking in to Mega as there were bright yellow signs hanging everywhere.....sale!!! The produce department was practically one big yellow sale sign. So, along with 50 other excited produce shoppers we poked, prodded and smelled our fruit. Then, bagged our selections and tried to maneuver our carts to the next brightly colored fruit with a yellow sign. One lady was so excited about her apple purchase that she placed them in my cart!! We both laughed when she realized what she had done. Now, for the good part.....the bargains.
1 cantaloupe $1.50
7 bananas $0.72
5 small tomatoes $0.46
half a watermelon $0.22
5 red delicious apples $1.35
5 golden yellow apples $1.14

Can, I get a cha-ching!!!
I left a proud and overjoyed shopper. Loaded my groceries into the van. Went to start the van....nothing....dead battery!!!
Cell phone: dead battery. Good thing we only live a couple of blocks from the store. I put all the cold items into 2 bags and grabbed my prize watermelon. It must have been a sight to see this little pregnant woman walking in the sun carrying groceries and half a watermelon. I was content as a cucumber though!

After Preston finished Bible study he headed up to Mega to get the van. When he was headed out the door I ordered him to buy another watermelon since it was such a great deal. Preston came back a few minutes later with the van (bad battery connection) and a whole watermelon that cost $0.46. What a great day!

Still a mystery

We are still waiting to find out if Baby Goings is a boy or a girl!!!!

When we went to the Dr. in September she told us we were having a little boy but she couldn't get a clear shot due to the baby moving his legs like crazy. She told us we would confirm at the next month's appointment. That was yesterday. I was so excited to confirm we were having a little boy since I have been planning for a little boy all month now! Well, we get to the ultrasound and our Dr. says that she sees no signs of it being a boy but she can't confirm that it is a girl!!!! What?!! Now what, we wait until next month. But this planner is sitting here on pins and needles. The wait is truly the hardest part. SO, due to Baby Goings being modest and somewhat stubborn, we still do not know the gender of the baby. Oh, what a ham this baby is going to be!!

We are super happy to let you know that everything look perfect with the baby. He/she is moving right along schedule and growing perfectly. He/she is healthy and seems to be very happy because it is moving around like crazy. What a fun journey!!

Happy Birthday to me

Thursday, September 24 was my 28th birthday! We had a perfect day. Preston took me to my favorite spot in Vallarta, the marina, for breakfast. Breakfast was fantastic as always. The hash browns really hit the spot....thanks for encouraging me to order them P.

Here are some pictures that I didn't know Preston was taking. They turned out to be great belly shots.

Then, we hung out at Starbucks for a few hours and chatted while enjoying the a/c.
Then we had a small get together with friends, cake, coffee and lots of laughs. Here are a few pictures and of course trying to get belly pictures. People were more excited about my belly all night instead of my b-day!! j/k It was a perfect day. Thank P and friends. Thanks everyone again for all the cards, emails, and phone calls.

One quick highlight: I answered the phone to the voice of my 4 year old nephew, Elliott on the other end.
E: Happy Birthday Aunt Courtney
C: Thanks Elliott
E: What did you do today?
C: I am going to eat cake today.
E: What kind?
C: Chocolate
E. That's my favorite! Where at?
C: My house.
E: Where is your house?
C: Mexico
E: (long pause...thinking) Oh ok! Ok bye! (hands the phone to his dad before I say bye)

Now, that conversation will make you smile and make your day complete.

The little woodworker

Preston is such a great guy. I wanted to show how much he has been doing for baby Goings and for myself. First, he is building us a changing table. I got online and looked at changing tables and custom designed my own!!! My sweet husband is building me the changing table of my dreams. He spends his weekend free time working on the hot roof! That is dedication to your family.

Here are some various pictures from last weekend and today. There are also a couple of videos.

Great idea on using the tent!!! A little protection from the sun.

It is not quite finished but it is looking great. I am super excited and so proud of him!!
