Home Sweet Home!!

Well it was absolutely wonderful to be in good old Springfield Missouri. We love the cool crisp air, the food, the stores, the prices on things and most important our family, friends and our church family.

It was great to see everyone and have almost two weeks to love on and hug everyone. I love being able to hug my mom, dad and brother everyday. It felt so nice. I loved having lunch with my best friend filled with lots of laughs and a few tears. Oh how I treasure that time at home. When we get back to PV it takes a while to adjust back and then I always look at my pictures and wished I had more. But I will post the ones I have.

Tuesday at Titanic!!
Preston and I and my family went to Branson early Tuesday morning and hit the outlet malls. We found some great deals. We then had a wonderful lunch at Olive Garden and then headed to the Titanic museum. Let me tell you....if you haven't been to the Titanic museum in Branson it is well worth your time and money. We all loved it. I would suggest paying the extra $5 for the audio tour...it was well worth the money. We learned so much and it was a fun family outing but I love anything I do with my family. Thanksgiving with the Maleskys
We spent Thursday with my family. My grandpa, Uncle Scott, Aunt Andrea, and my Cousin Carrie were all there. Plus their families and kids. In total there were 16 people. Mom and I woke up early and stayed in the kitchen all afternoon. When everyone left we crashed!! It was so great to spend that time with all our family. It was a wonderful peaceful time and I am so thankful for all the hard work my mom put into preparing the meal. Everything was perfect mom....the noodles were perfect as usual. We had a wonderful time.

Thanksgiving with the Goings
Friday we had thanksgiving at the Goings. We had a wonderful meal prepared by Betty G. It was nice to have the cheesy potatoes....my favorite from the Going's meal. Then we went to a movie. It was Elliott's first time in the "big theater"(he did great by the way). Then the boys and Betty played games and Stephanie and I hit hobby lobby!! I think I was in hobby lobby 7 times or so! We need a hobby lobby in PV.

On Thanksgiving morning Preston and my brother Troy ran the Turkey trot~ Way to go guys!! I am so proud of both of you. Thanks for the 100 turkey hats!!

Then before we left we had to go to Silver Dollar City with our families. It was wonderful. We had a blast!!! Silver Dollar City was more beautiful than ever. We went with my dad, mom, my brother (he drove all the way to and from Jeff City just to come...so sweet) Jason, Jonathan, Stephanie, Elliott and Tammi. We had a blast!! We rode all the rides and I loved all the lights. You can always find my dad sitting by the big tree (which by the way was awesome this year) It was a tad cold but the wassail was a hit as always. Preston and I both rode a kid ride with our nephew. That time was precious.

There is so much more I am missing. But these were a few highlights and my only pictures! It was great to see each and everyone of you. We loved every moment and hug we were able to have! We look forward already to the next hug!!! We love you all dearly.

The birth of my sister

I can't explain how much I love my Tammi Q./H. She is such a great friend to me. She is more than my best friend she is my sister. No matter how much time apart we have our hearts are still always connected. I love her and I cherish every moment I have with her. Today we celebrate the birth of this beautiful woman. If you have never met her you need to. She is the kindest,most tenderhearted and giving person I know. She always knows exactly what I'm thinking and she can even understand me when I don't complete my thought. Plus I know her weakness....grab the back of her neck!!!

Tam, thank you for being such a faithful friend to me. Thank you for all your love and support. I can't wait to see what the Lord has for you this year. Please know I am so excited to walk right by your side every step of the way! I love you so much and I thank the Lord everyday for hooking our hearts together. I love you my sweet sister and I am so glad you were born this day. I Love you!!!

More creativity this weekend!

Well this weekend we continued on our path of creativity to finish up those hot dog buns. I think you guys will be pleasantly surprised with some of the meals we came up with!! (If you don't know what I am talking about then go down a few posts and catch up!)

On the Goings Bun Cheese Sticks

These delicious bun sticks have a little butter then shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Then you can sprinkle some Italian seasonings on the top.....delicious!!
Thanks to the wonderful suggestion from my Dad we have developed another meal.

On the Goings Bun Pizzas

Now I know this looks just like a pizza from Domino's or Papa John's but it's not! Actually the crust is made of.....you guessed it, hot dog buns! Surprisingly if you don't think about it you forget you are eating a hot dog bun...it just feels like pizza!!

We are running out of ideas faster than we are running out of buns! I don't know if there will be more to come in this area. But I am sure you were blessed to have all these new On the Goings meal ideas!!

A little weekend day trip

Preston and I decided while we live in this area we need to take advantage of getting out and seeing the cities and towns in the surrounding area of PV. We have heard so many people say we need to go visit the city of San Sebastian, Jalisco so we decided to go on an adventure today!

San Sebastian is an hour and a half away from PV and it has been there since the early 1600's. It was an old silver mining town. There is not a ton to do in this old town but it was great to see the character it has. Here are some pictures.

This is where we got to learn how to make coffee. This sweet man grows them in his back yard and sells the coffee from his house. It was so fun to learn from him!

Overall we had a great time together. We love and miss you all. We will be home in
10 days!!!

Resolution to excess hotdog buns

Ok, this might look like the average meal of Spaghetti and bread sticks but it's not! Preston and I have tried to get creative to use up all those extra hot dog and hamburger buns that we have. So, we came up with a new invention (at least for our families)

On the Goings Bun Sticks

With just some hot dog buns and a little bit of butter and garlic powder your family too can enjoy a delicious Italian meal and the best part is there is not a lot of preparation time. Just spread some butter and sprinkle the powder on a hot dog bun and put in the oven for around 5-10 mins on low heat.
If you are going to try these delicious treats at home please call them.....

I am telling you, watch out Olive Garden and Fazoli's. These bun sticks just might replace your so called "bread sticks!"

Lots of left over hotdog buns!!

Thank you so much for praying for the reunion/BBQ. We understand that not everything we do is going to be a success. We reached that conclusion the hard way! We had our house open from 1-10 pm and not one person came! We took turns sitting in front of the door just in case somebody came. So we got to feel the life of a security guard in a low traffic place! We have both decided we don't know if we were cut out for that job!

Please know we are not discouraged. We know the Lord has a plan and we are willing to get creative. We know the Lord is faithful and we worship him the same in the good and bad times. We do thank you for praying though!

We have been receiving many emails to let us know we are being thought of and prayed for. This really means a lot to us and we are so grateful to have the power of God's people backing us in prayer!
