6 Years

6 crazy, action packed years have flown by!! But, I can honestly say they have been the 6 best years of my life. There have been SO many memories, life events, changes and laughs. If, I had to pick my 6 favorite things throughout the years....here they would be.

6. Watching God take these weak vessels to do amazing things for him and only by HIM! The work in P.V has been hard but a true testimony of Christ in us.

5. Our cruise to Alaska was truly a highlight of my life. Not only was the trip breathtaking but that time with my parents and Preston was priceless. There were so many memories that were made and I fell more in love with Preston just seeing the world together.

4. Waking up every day knowing that I will be loved by my husband and he will go out of his way to serve me that day. Plus, I love those morning hugs at the bottom of the stairs.

3. Watching our family grow and change. Through the years we have added a niece, nephew and a sister in law. Not only do we have new members of the family but we have grown and changed. I am thankful that we have all grown closer to our Savior and I am thankful for the deep love we all have for each other. I can't wait to grow in numbers and closeness!!!

2. Watching our first child be born into this world and the whole miracle of life we have seen before our eyes. Also, feeling a deep love for her that we never knew existed.

1. Our wedding day was a day of pure joy. It was the best decision I ever made. I knew no matter where life took us or the difficulties we would face, I would be loved and cared for by Preston and my heavenly Father.

Love is the most amazing thing you can experience. It is never ending and so deep. All you have to do is tap into it and just stay there! God's Love, Preston's Love, Family's Love and now Callie's Love. I am SO blessed.

Beanbags

So, I found this amazing idea from a friend's blog. She will make you sick for how absolutely creative she is but, I love to follow her blog and steal all of her ideas. Although, I told Preston, I did make this with my own little pizazz.

These are little beanbags to help Callie learn her alphabet and then learn to spell. I have only made the vowels so far but I was so proud of them, I just had to share.
I made them out of an old pair of blue jeans that I LOVED. The jeans had way too many holes in them so, I patched them and now the patches are falling off....time to throw them away....ya' think~ Not me!! I love them so much I am making them into a learning tool for Callie. The letters are Cricut letters "Storybook" cut out of felt.

You simply sew on the letters. Sew three sides of the bag, fill it with 1/3 cups of beans, sew the last edge and ta-da...a beanbag.

Letters: 2.5 inches

Proud of Bub

Bub, Bubba, T-roy, Troy boy, Uncle Bob and Bob-O are just a few of the names for my sweet baby brother.
My sweet baby brother has officially turned into a handsome man right before my eyes. I have been SO proud to watch him grow up through the years but I kind of wish I had that "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle" loving brother back. I loved our childhood together but I am really loving our adulthood. I love how we change and grow but we never lose that love or friendship.

We are proud to announce that my brother is officially a sailor! He graduated from the Navy basics May 21st. I couldn't be more proud of him and I totally wish I could be in one of these pictures with him. He is SO handsome.

We love you SO much Uncle Bob!!! We are SO proud of you! We miss you and we can't wait to see you again....hopefully sooner than later.

Now what for my brother: Pre-buds and then Buds training to become a Navy Seal. We will keep you posted on that for sure!

We are so thankful for you and the sacrifices you have made as a Mother. We are SO thankful for both of our moms and we are thankful for all the other mother figures we have had in our lives. You can always feel the love flowing from a mom!!
I am thankful to join your club this year and celebrate the joy of being a mom and loving a little someone more than I ever imagined I could.

Callie Lelia Goings

We are so glad to introduce to all of you Callie Lelia Goings. She was born February 8,2010 and weighed 6 pounds 10 ounces. She is 20.5 inches long and healthy and happy. We are so excited for this new adventure. Many had asked to see her, so here she is.

For those of you who don't know, I am a huge Tom Petty fan. I always tell people that some of his lyrics actually have truth to them. I would say the biggest example would be his song, The Waiting. I have actually sent these lyrics to friends before who are dealing with something and trying to be patient in the waiting. Since, this is the stage where we are at right now I decided to bust out my album and read the lyrics again. So so true Tom! Sing it from the heart! Amen!

Read the lyrics and see if you can apply them to your life and the waiting you are experiencing. Then, if you have this album, get it out and scream this song at the top of your lungs. It really helps :)

The wait is always worth it!

Christmas Day

Christmas morning we woke up, ate breakfast and then Preston made us all special coffee drinks.

We read the Christmas story and talked about Jesus and His meaning in our lives. We then opened some presents together. We all received very good and practical gifts.






Well maybe all weren't practical :)
Mom made me this sweet album of my pregnancy. The album is beautiful! I will treasure it always and I know baby girl will love looking at it some day as well.
Preston and I didn't buy "gifts" this year. Instead, we stuffed the stockings. We had fun doing those and watching everyone open theirs.

We then ate lunch and headed to the beach for "sandman" building. It turned out to be a really fun idea. We made 2 different sandmen. One was upright and the other was laying out in the sun.
Both turned out really good and we had lots of people walking by and looking at them.

We came home and finished up making our pork tenderloin dinner. We enjoyed our lovely meal together and then we took some family pictures.



Overall, I would say it was a VERY Merry Christmas. We were so thankful to have had our family here to share the day with. It was a Christmas we will never forget!!!
